Calvin Pryor is a former American football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on July 2, 1992, in Port St. Joe, Florida. Pryor attended the University of Louisville, where he played college football for the Louisville Cardinals.
Pryor was selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the 18th overall pick. He played for the Jets for three seasons before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2017. Pryor also had brief stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.
Throughout his NFL career, Pryor was known for his physical playing style and ability to deliver big hits. However, injuries and inconsistency hampered his performance, and he struggled to live up to his first-round draft status.
In 2021, Pryor announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 29. Despite his relatively short NFL career, Calvin Pryor made an impact on the field and gained a reputation as a hard-hitting defender.
